Allan D’Archangelo (American, 1930-)
D’Archangelo is most noted for his unique mix of pop art with highway culture. He began his career in 1958 and has since established himself as a major artist in the Pop art movement. He has been collected by major museums throughout the world, such as, the Albright-Knox, Neuberger, and Australian National Gallery.

The Bead Game is D’Archangelo’s commentary on our highway culture. The sunset-like background is interrupted by all too common high tension electrical wires. The sight is so common along the highways of America, that it goes unnoticed.

A few works from this edition have recently become available. Some have sold for as much as $3,000. Because we were able to acquire these work so reasonably, we are happy to offer them for a fraction of that price. Only $750, freight paid (within the US, slightly more elsewhere). This a rare opportunity to own a great work of art by a major artist very inexpensively. Don’t delay.

Le Lapin Agile H. Claude Pissarro, Original aquatint and etching in color, 1987, 14 ¼ x 19 ¼ inches, Edition of 200, Signed and numbered, $750

H. Claude Pissarro (French, 1935- )
The name sounds familiar, because it is. He is the grandson of the famed impressionist painter, Camille Pissarro. Claude has earned his own artistic reputation in this century. He has had one man shows too numerous to count. Museum exhibitions throughout the world. And his paintings and pastels sell for tens of thousands of dollars in galleries and auctions.

The etching le Lapin Agile is from a common turn-of-the-century scene. Le Lapin Agile (the agile rabbit) was a famous tavern in France. Here it is seen in winter. It is typical of Claude’s work, dreamy and reminiscent of forgotten times. The snow obliterating everything but the foreground; yet a warmth prevails and the scene conjures images of fires and unhurried conversations.

This etching is in mint condition and has never been framed. It normally sells in galleries for $1,500 to $2,500. We are happy to offer ours for significantly less, $750.
