Wewer’s work is part of the permanent collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Masur Museum of Art and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She has
exhibited in several other museums as well, including the Bronx, Santa Monica, Taos, Taylor, and Aspen Art Museums. She has also Benefited from grants and awards from the Colorado Council on the Arts and other
organizations. Her art is represented and collected internationally.
Wewer was raised in Europe and lived for 15 years in New York and Washington, DC before moving to Colorado in 1981. She received her Ph.D. in the Creative Arts from the Union
Institute, a BFA from the University of Southern Mississippi, and she has spent many summers studying at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, Colorado.
Her work is inspired by her dreams and personal experience, and is very experimental. Wewer is dedicated to mixed media and book arts, where she feels she can use her vast background
of study and her love of tactile expression.
